WHY SUPPORT THE FORUM?

We believe that no other charitable organization covering issues of national security combines the expertise, nonpartisan commitment, diverse networks, administrative efficiency, and high-quality research and programming as effectively as we do. And you can help. By investing in the Forum, you are investing in the future of civil society, the rule of law, and global cooperation to prevent terrorism. The Forum gratefully welcomes your contributions to the Annual Fund, and gifts may also be made through planned giving to our Legacy Fund.

THE FORUM IS A SOUND INVESTMENT

• We are dedicated to remaining nonpartisan and independent.

• We are efficient—only a small fraction of our income is used for operational expenses.

• We are able to leverage the work of our dedicated and efficient staff through partnerships with in-country experts, local and national law enforcement, and other international policy professionals.

• Our staff is nimble and has established an enduring network of high-end officials and experts, allowing us to address new issues of national and international security as they are identified.

• Many of our efforts are focused on regions that have the least amount of resources but are often among the most vulnerable and need help to establish strategies to prevent terrorism.

HOW YOUR INVESTMENT SUPPORTS THE FORUM

The Forum receives grants from foundations and foreign governments that are designated for specific programs. Your donations help support and expand our initiatives that are not otherwise funded through these sources.

Preventing Transnational Violence

Thinking about how existing and future transnational security challenges relate is crucial to preventing terrorism. The Forum is developing new research on the role of transnational organized violence in countries transitioning from conflict and others transitioning into democracy.

Sustaining Our Existing Networks

Over the last three decades, we have built a large network of government and nongovernmental officials, academics, policy experts, and organizations working on the ground across the globe. These networks are vital to our ability to form effective partnerships, conduct innovative research, and ensure that others can effectively implement our recommendations. Your contributions will allow us to establish a liaison in each region to help maintain these relationships long after the grants have expired.

Establishing New Networks

These same liaisons will help us develop new relationships that will expand the reach of our efforts. As our work in South Asia demonstrates, our initial project involved a handful of UN officials, but as we met and gained the trust of new people and organizations, our work expanded significantly. A few years after our first meeting, we are conducting groundbreaking trainings for law officials to effectively counter terrorism across the region.

This growth is possible because donors like you provide consistent funding, which gives our staff the time and resources they needed to establish relationships and build trust with officials and organizations in the region. Those relationships enable us to bring together the right regional groups to combat terrorism in very vulnerable parts of the world by collaborating in ways they never have before. Your investment in the Forum will permit us to continue to expand our connections and keep up with changing circumstances in these important regions.
